#2 The Grand Old Lady No.1, Miri
The Grand Old Lady No.1 is Miri’s very first oil well, which has been around since 1910. It’s located in front of the Petroleum Museum Sarawak, where admission is free. Learn about the state’s oil industry at the museum, and don’t miss the popular earthquake simulator.

#3 Pasar Serikin, Bau
For collectors of traditional souvenirs, you can find plenty of them at this open market located at the borders of Sarawak and Kalimantan (Indonesia). Stretching up to a kilometre long, some of the items you can find include rattan furniture, traditional medicine, costume jewellery, and traditional ethnic handicraft, clothing, and accessories.

#4 Textile Museum Sarawak, Kuching

#5 Cat Museum, Kuching
With roughly 4, 000 collections of all things cat, it’s hard for cat lovers to miss this adorably irresistible Cat Museum located in Kuching (which also means cat in Malay). Here, a huge range of cat-related souvenirs, arts, photos, and exhibitions can be found. While admission is free, there will be charges for taking photos or shooting videos in the museum.

#6 The Old Courthouse, Kuching

#8 The Brooke Gallery, Fort Margherita, Kuching

#10 Niah National Park, Miri
For the adventurous types, the cave and the long jungle walk at Niah National Park would be an amazing experience. The cave, which used to be a human settlement some 40, 000 years ago, is home to iron-age cave paintings and Palaeolithic and Neolithic burial sites.
