It was a 4day 3night Star Cruise Superstar Libra Penang-Phuket-Krabi package. Though, it wasn’t any regular vacation because we had a Malaysian celebrity, Pak Nil, on board with us!
This special package was only available for a limited time around the end of last year and the only difference is that there were a couple of additional activities organised by Pak Nil and his team that were only made available for cruiser who bought this special package.
So here’s my experience… (Links for - Part 1, Part 2, Phuket City Tour and Part 3)

The morning before Krabi City Tour, we had dim sum for breakfast at Ocean Palace Restaurant. It wasn’t anything to shout about though. Then, there was Cha-cha Dance Class with Cruise Staff on the pool deck. It was quite an amusing class watching everyone shaking it.
We arrive at Krabi about 10am, the same process goes by assembling at Stardust Lounge to be transferred to Krabi island with a smaller ship. It took us around 45 minutes to reach the island due to the cruise ship parked slightly further than usual.
We first had a Photo Stop at Khao Kanab Nam, the symbol of Krabi. It’s basically a twin mountain site on the Krabi River with a huge cave inside. Well, you are meant to take picture of the Black Crab Sculpture with two limestones rocks at the background. Clearly, I was at a wrong angle.
Next, we visited Wat Kaew (White Temple). Located at the centre of Krabi town, it’s a place to visit if you want solitude. The milky white temple structure with blue roof if said to be one of the most colourful temples in Thailand. Proper attire is needed to go into the temple.
After lunch, we went into the wild where lives giant catfish. Only 10 minutes away from Ao Nang beach, the Giant Catfish Farm is beautifully designed park that has numerous ponds teeming with 20 different kinds of catfish in Southern Thailand. A great place for nature walk with an entrance fee of 50 baht, fish food included.
Finally, we were free to roam around Ao Nang area. Some decided to distress and have a good massage session while others choose to walk along the streets to do a little shopping. There were also a couple of food stalls selling some of Thailand’s famous street food such as Thai Pancake, Thai Coconut Pudding, Mango Sticky Rice, and etc.
