Sail Date: 30 November – 3 December 2014
It was a 4day 3night Star Cruise Superstar Libra Penang-Phuket-Krabi package. Though, it wasn’t any regular vacation because we had a Malaysian celebrity, Pak Nil, on board with us!
This special package was only available for a limited time around the end of last year and the only difference is that there were a couple of additional activities organised by Pak Nil and his team that were only made available for cruiser who bought this special package.
So here’s my experience… (Links for - Part 1, Part 2, Phuket City Tour, Part 3 and Krabi City Tour)

We were late for our first session Gala Dinner because the Ship’s tender boat transfer back to the cruise ship took a little longer than expected. Obviously, we’ve also missed the Gala Cocktail Party where there was an introduction of the Ship management, entertainment and mocktail drinks.
Tip: Gala Dinners are optional with extra charges. You’ll need to register yourself on the first day at the reception area to secure a spot in either the first session or the second session of the Gala Dinner. Proper attire are required, no shorts, no slippers.
The Gala Dinner was held at the Four Seasons Restaurant. We were seated and chose our selection for the four-course meal. The dinner was exceptionally good. It was high class fine dining with great food presentation and taste. However, it can be a little rushing since you’ll have to finish your meals within two hours so they could attend to the next session.
Tip: If you are late for the Gala Dinner, you will still be allowed in but once you’ve passed the appetizer and the soup serving period, they will only serve you the remaining main course and dessert. So is best you attend the Gala Dinner on time to fully enjoy you money’s worth.
We then rush off to catch the all time famous cooking show in Korean, Nanta. They started showing them on Cruise just recently, they also have shows around the world. We highly recommend watching it, as it will knock your socks off with much comedic character.
Tip: Check out 5 Reasons To Catch Cookin’ Nanta if you don’t know what this show is all about.
It’s the last night on board, of course, the kids are allowed out later than their usual bedtime. Everyone was up on deck by 11pm to join in the fun and happening Viva De Libra Farewell Party. The cruise entertainment team and hotel representatives put on one final extravagant show as well as party one last time with the guests. Music were loud and people were cheering from all corners of the Ship, as well as a farewell Thank You speech by the host to end the night.
The morning before we arrive Penang, we are required to settle our bills (if any) and collect our Passports at the Stardust Lounge. Other than that, we didn’t do much other than sleeping in, pack our bags, eat our hearts out at Mariners Buffet breakfast and assembled for disembarkation.
Tip: Leave your luggages outside your cabin door by 11am for luggage service. I’m actually very impressed with their luggage services, everything is quick and in order. No issues.
The End.
