Formula One fans can look forward to an exciting line-up of activities and new experiences in conjunction with the upcoming 2016 Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix which takes place from 30 September to 2 October 2016. Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today held the official launch of the 2016 Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix - themed Experience Redef1ned, attended by SIC CEO Dato’ Razlan Razali and PETRONAS Senior General Manager of Group Strategic Communications Zahariah Abd Rahman.
The 18th edition of the world’s premier four-wheel championship to be held in Malaysia has been rescheduled on the Formula One calendar. As announced in January, the 2016 Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix is the 16th race in a 21-race calendar, slotted directly after the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.
Sepang will also be hosting both the GP2 and GP3 – feeder series for the Formula One, in conjunction with the Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix. While the Asia GP2 series was held in Sepang in 2012 and 2013, this is the first time spectators in Sepang will be able to catch the global GP2 and GP3 live at the track. This is also the first year the Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix and the Shell Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix are held within the span of a month - making it a full Month of Motorsports in October.
