Furano Japan is well known for its lavender fields even though they have many more kinds of flowers that begin blooming in May (Lupines and Tulips) and June (Blue Salvia and Poppies). Specifically for lavender in Japan, they usually have early bloom from late June onwards but the best timing to visit is always within mid-late July. This viewing platform offers you a panoramic view of the Rokugoh landscape, which was the setting for the Kita no Kuni Kara television drama series. It overlooks the breathtaking backdrop of the great outdoors and rustic, rural Japan. Surrounding the viewing platform are fields of flowers where lavender, poppies, sunflowers, Chinese peonies, mustard flowers, cosmos and other blossoms unfold into a tapestry of color in time with the changing of the seasons.

The Winery and Wine House are located just outside Furano. Situated on a hill above town, the winery and the flower farm both offer beautiful views of town and the ski area in one direction and Mt. Tokachidake in the other.The lavender here is the earliest to bloom each year in Furano with the peak in mid July.

Highland Furano is an accommodation and hot spring location that is surrounded by forest and one of the largest lavender field in Furano. The best part is that the lavender field is visible from the open baths/natural spa area when it’s in season. Additionally, they menu also features fresh local produce.
