#1 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival

The Hwacheon Mountain Trout Festival is a hands-on festival where you’ll get fish in lakes covered with thick ice sheets. Many people managed to catch trout with only using simple fishing rod or small reel rod. You may also find interesting activities such as the hand-catching competition where participants use their bare hands to catch mountain trout in a freezing cold pond, ice football, snow sledding and ice sledding activities, and more.

#2 Inje Icefish Festival

Another  popular ice fishing festival where you’ll get to experience activities such as fishing contest, ice fish food tasting, barehanded angling through cracks on ice and snowmobile race. They also have folk performances for public to enjoy.

#3 Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival

This festival features activities such as mountaineering competition, ski competition, dog seld race, and a naked marathon in snow-covered fields! You could also enjoy programmes such as singing contest, snow art contest, snow literature, and more.

#4 Taebaek Snow Festival

Taebaek Mountain Snow Festival is located at Taebaeksan National Park and it covers activities such as Taebaeksan Mountain Snowflake Hiking Competition, snow sliding, get a ride on a sled pulled by Siberian huskies, and more. Its special feature is having huge snow sculptures and ice fountain around the area.
