The Hwacheon Mountain Trout Festival is a hands-on festival where you’ll get fish in lakes covered with thick ice sheets. Many people managed to catch trout with only using simple fishing rod or small reel rod. You may also find interesting activities such as the hand-catching competition where participants use their bare hands to catch mountain trout in a freezing cold pond, ice football, snow sledding and ice sledding activities, and more.

Taebaek Mountain Snow Festival is located at Taebaeksan National Park and it covers activities such as Taebaeksan Mountain Snowflake Hiking Competition, snow sliding, get a ride on a sled pulled by Siberian huskies, and more. Its special feature is having huge snow sculptures and ice fountain around the area.
