This is an alpine skiing area that will host a few events for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. It’s located on the site of Gariwang Mountain, one of the most remote areas in South Korea, in the township of Bukpyeong in the county of Jeongseon.

The name Auraji is derived from the Korean word “eoureojida”, which means ‘to meet’ as the waters of Pyeongchang and Samcheok unites here. It’s a river that is popular for its beautiful view and serenity of the place.

Also known as Byeongbangchi Observatory, this place features breathtaking views surrounding Bamseom Island and streams of Donggang River. For those who likes adventurous activities, you should experience the Byeongbangchi Skywalk where you’ll be “walking in the sky” on the a U-shaped tempered glass projected from a cliff at an altitude of 583m. Also, you could choose to experience zip wiring down the mountain!

Samtan Art Mine was an abandoned coal mine location that’s now transformed into a cultural art complex. Located at the foot of Hambaeksan Mountain, a place named “Venus from Bubble” was the exact shooting location for the famous 2016 K-Drama, ‘Descendants of the Sun’ where in episode 12, Agus kidnapped Dr.Kang to his hideout and blackmailed her to break up with captain Yoo.
