It’s for real. The Malaysian Film Censorship Board (LPF) has officially banned Fifty Shades of Grey movie from showing in Malaysian cinemas that was set to premiere on Feb 12.
LPF’s chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid described this erotic, romance film to be “more like pornography than a movie”. Continued by stating that the flick contains scenes those are not of natural sexual content and are sadistic with features of scenes of a woman being tied to a bed and whipped. The film stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia “Ana” Steele, a literature student, who falls for the wealthy Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). Soon, she is drawn into his fetish world of bondage sex.
