Pork Bone Soup (Gamjatang)

Gamjatang Pork Bone Soup

This pork bone soup comes with a spicy Korean deep red colour soup filled with pork spine, ribs, vegetables, hot peppers and etc. They are boiled in high temperature for a period of time so the meat will easily be tear apart just by using chopstick.

Of course, how can we not have some Korean barbecue in Korea. The most popular way of having this would be with thick slices of beef sirloin or tenderloin (pork is also a great choice), usually marinated, and grilled in front of you to perfection. Cut them up and wrap it with the greens provided before eating them.

Directly translated as “wrapped” or “package”, Bossam is a pork Korean cuisine where the pork belly is boiled in spices and thinly sliced before serving with side dishes such as garlic, onion, kimchi, special wrap sauce, all to be wrapped in vegetable leaves such as red lettuce or cabbage.

Palsaik

Pal saek samgyupsal means 8 colours pork belly, is the new revolution of Korean barbecue. It focuses on pork belly, marinated in eight different types of marinades. It’s also common to have them with a big pot of Korean soup beside the grill.

Grilled Salted Mackerel

Grilled Salted Mackerel Korean dish

Mackerel is the most common and inexpensive fish to serve on Koreans’ table. Grilled salted mackerel is very much a “mom dish” or “everyman’s dish” in Korea, nothing fancy but taste absolutely delicious. It’s usually served with rice, seaweed and the usual sides.

Seafood Stew

Haemultang is one of Korea’s famous traditional food. Spicy (usually but adjustable) yet so sweet, dig in to a pot of fresh crabs, octopus, squids, scallops, shrimps, clams and much more. Its rich flavour is also known to be very good for health.
