The Potato Head Group is proud to launch Attarine — a casual all-day neighbourhood restaurant serving modern and refined cuisine — on 15th October 2016. Attarine brings a world of spice to Jakarta with well-crafted, sophisticated dishes made with vibrant spices and seasonings from across the globe. Taking inspiration from the Spice Route and its lasting influence on the history of food, Attarine celebrates flavours that are comfortable and familiar, yet lively and exciting.
The Food
Attarine’s menu is under the direction of Chef Jacob Burrell, who draws on his experience and love of working with local suppliers and seasonal ingredients to create original and authentic cuisine. Bringing a similar approach to the refined and delicious food at Attarine, the menu showcases the best meats, vegetables, herbs and fruits; many of them are carefully sourced from independent Indonesian producers.
At the centre of the restaurant is a wood-fire oven, which will turn out perfectly grilled meats, roasted vegetables and fresh bread throughout the day. Attarine’s changing daily specials and menus will depend on the best available and seasonal ingredients, which will continue to provide exciting offerings at this neighbourhood restaurant. In addition to the variety, Attarine has a number of trademark dishes including:
Lamb Shoulder Chops: Cooked with saffron braised onions and garlic and topped with walnuts, olives and pomegranate
Cast Iron Skillet Shrimp: Flavoured with fragrant chilli, tamarind and coriander.
Wood-fired Whole Fish: Today's fresh catch roasted in wood-fire oven, seasoned simply with sea salt, long pepper and bay leaves
Fried Half Chicken: Drizzled with spiced coconut nectar
Seasonal vegetables: Indonesia has an abundance of wonderful vegetables and Attarine showcases the freshest in-season offerings. These include golden cauliflower with turmeric-cashew butter; and wood-fired baby corn with chilli, dried mint and cheese curds.
The Space
Located on Jalan Gunawarman in South Jakarta, Attarine is a bright, open and inviting space. The interior is clean and simple, creating the perfect setting to showcase the restaurant’s vibrant and flavourful meals.
Now open for dinner, Attarine is set to break new culinary and social ground in the Indonesian capital and will start lunch service on 29th October 2016.
