Victoria’s sweetest destinations – the recently opened Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie on the Surf Coast only 10 minutes from Torquay and the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie in the Yarra Valley wine region – will take the old time favourite to all new heights with a line up of 31 flavours, Rocky Road inspired desserts, ice creams and hot chocolates between 1-31 May. Entry is free and the Chocolateries are open 7 days per week.
European Chocolatiers will be using milk, dark and white couverture chocolate, seasonal and exotic ingredients to handcraft Rocky Road temptations beyond the traditional mix of chocolate, nuts and marshmallows. Expect creations such as Chai Latte, Smokin Hot, Superfoods, Edible Flower, Gum Leaf and Wild Honey Bush Tucker, Matcha Tea and even a Golden Gaytime flavour.
Visitors who hit the road to the Chocolateries down on the Surf Coast or in the picturesque Yarra Valley will be able to pick and mix 31 different flavours of hand made blocks of Rocky Road from giant three-metre long cabinets to discover just why this Aussie treat is such a sensation.
Those with an extra sweet tooth will devour the special menu of Rocky Road infused desserts, ice creams, sundaes, waffles and Rockin’ Hot Chocolates on offer at the all day cafés for the month of May, while real Rocky Road devotees will be able to join Rock Around the Block classes. Hosted tastings of creative flavours and infusions in blocks and truffles as well as ice creams and hot chocolates staged ‘behind the scenes’ will rock on select days throughout the Festival for just $18 per person.
