World-renowned Brazilian DJ and producer, Marcos Carnaval will be in town spinning adrenaline-pumping beats and tunes at Laundry, The Curve, on June 13th and 14th from 9.30pm onwards, in conjunction with FIFA World Cup 2014 celebration, and in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil and Escola Brasileira de Capoeira (EBC) Group.
DJ Marcos Carnaval, or DJ Mark UC as he is better known, is no stranger in the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene. This New York-based Brazilian DJ and producer have been playing regularly at some of the hottest nightclubs around the world, including the world’s number one club, Space Ibiza. He was also one of the headlining DJs for one of the biggest EDM festivals – Ultra Music Festival (UMF) in 2008. He gained further recognition in the EDM scene in 2009 when he became the opening act for, Tiesto, the godfather of EDM, at UMF, as well as the closing act for Fat Boy Slim in 2010.
Signed under the Tommy Boy Entertainment record label, DJ Marcos Carnaval has produced, remixed and licensed tracks for Tommy Boy, Nervous Records, EMI Japan as well as for one of the most prestigious independent record labels, Ministry of Sound (MOS). He has also appeared on the popular Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix Show. His songs have been featured in movie soundtracks, as well as appearing in over thirty compilation CDs and eight solo albums.
Laundry will provide you with a true Rio Carnaval inspired atmosphere – with vivacious dancers strutting in elaborate and colourful costumes while the pulsating rhythms of the samba keep you dancing, singing and partying all night long.
Laundry will also treat you to signature Brazilian carnival performances of the fast-paced, percussive style of Batucada, and Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that incorporates dance, music and acrobatics that will not only provide you with wonderful entertainment, but it will also give you a chance to learn and experience the true culture of Brazil.
