FAMILYMART: A JAPANESE BASED CONVENIENCE STORE IS OPENING IN MALAYSIA
QL Resources Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Maxincome Resources Sdn Bhd, has signed a franchise agreement with Tokyo-based FamilyMart Co Ltd for the development and operation of FamilyMart convenience stores in Malaysia.
“FamilyMart, known for its wide range of quality, ready-to-eat food and beverage offerings besides other convenience items, provides a strategic downstream expansion of QL’s existing food manufacturing and distribution business,” the company said.
QL anticipates to open the first FamilyMart in Malaysia by December 2016 and aims to have 300 FamilyMart stores in Malaysia in five years
