Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market is not a stranger to most of us. Especially if you love shopping and getting good deals, this famous weekend market is definitely one not to be missed when visiting Bangkok.
Recently, it has been announced that Chatuchak Market will be having a “4.0” digital transformation. Reported by Bangkok Post, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) states that the market will become a cashless commercial area by June this year.
You should expect to pay for items by using a single card or by QR code on your phone. This upgrade is not only for the market but they are also planning to build automated parking lots which will accommodate about 100 cars. There are discussions about upgrading the market’s toilets but nothing is confirmed yet.
These new transformations are in addition to the current Chatuchak Guide mobile app that lists all the stalls and their ratings. Keep updated on Chatuchak’s news by visiting their website.
