Grand Coloane Resort is now Halal-Certified! Macau is a culturally diversified community and the number of Halal certified restaurants and dining places are now growing. And seeing this huge business potential, Grand Coloane Resort, the leading luxury resort situated on the south-eastern tip of Coloane Island, has taken the lead and become the first hotel in Macau to have successfully obtained a Halal food certification from The Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong.
A Halal food menu – which includes selection of chicken and lamb – is now available at Grand Coloane Resort during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours at Café Panorama and the resort’s in-room dining service. And although an a la carte Halal menu is being served, the resort’s culinary team is happy to prepare dishes according to guests’ liking.
“Our focus is not just the consistency of our halal food offerings but also the flavor as we bring our cuisine to a wider market,” said Mr. Asif Nisar Bajwa, Executive Assistant Manager – F&B of Grand Coloane. Mr. Bajwa oversees the hotel’s halal operations and works with a halal-trained kitchen, service and purchasing team to ensure that the all guidelines are strictly adhered to.
General Manager Mr. Malcolm McLauchlan commented, “Macau is growing to become a key leisure and business destination in Asia, and we have seen the rise in the demand for halal food. With the investment on our halal facility and operations, Grand Coloane Resort makes a strong commitment to providing for this growing market.
Other special menus, such as Indian vegetarian and Middle Eastern cuisine, can also be prepared with prior arrangement, therefore providing value-added benefits to MICE organizers, business and leisure travelers seeking something different from the competition.
