Good Vibes 2019 festival goers experienced major #StrangerVibes this weekend, when they were transported into the much-loved universe of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Netflix participated in the Good Vibes Festival for the first time and brought alive an exciting Stranger Things experience. Fans got to experience iconic sets and memorable scenes from each of the three seasons of Stranger Things that Malaysians have come to know and love so well. Each set provided insta-worthy photo moments specially designed to transport fans straight into the familiar ’80s vibe of the show.
Festival goers were thrilled as they were transported straight into the Byers’ living room, and found themselves face to face with the Demogorgon. In between their favourite music sets, fans got to try their hand at classic arcade games like Dig Dug as they stepped into the Palace Arcade.
Popular Malaysian fans of Stranger Things like Arwind Kumar, Mina Rosli, Shalma Ainaa, Shalma Eliana, Yusof Hashim, Johanis Sani and Maggy Wang all came decked in their Stranger Things best as they got their Good Vibes #ootd inspiration from the show’s characters.
Stranger Things took the world by storm after its global debut back in 2016 and has since become an iconic cultural phenomenon. The brainchild of The Duffer Brothers, the first season starred Millie Bobby Brown as the mysterious Eleven, alongside Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, forming the now infamous Stranger Squad. The show was a critically acclaimed hit worldwide, with young and older viewers alike, and spawned a second hit season in 2017 which continued the adventures alongside newer characters and and equally engrossing storyline.
In Stranger Things 3, it’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer's heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.
