Hokkaido 70% Subsidies Is Only Valid For Locals In Japan

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) recently released a statement regarding the Hokkaido government subsidies trips. It’s stated that the Hokkaido government had announced to cover up to 70% of cost of tourist trips in Hokkaido starting from 1 October 2018. However, it’s only currently valid for domestic travellers. Support measures for international travellers is yet to be announce.

At the moment, there’s a campaign call “We are GENKI Hokkaido/Welcome! Hokkaido, JAPAN Campaign” specially for international travellers. Many organizations and facilities are providing special offers and discounts for tourist visiting Hokkaido. There’s even “Fukkou-wari” (post-earthquake discounts) provided by the Hokkaido government and Hokkaido Tourism Organization.
