honor Malaysia today confirmed that its latest flagship, the honor 8 Pro will be getting the much anticipated Android 8.0 Oreo for its Malaysian consumers. The latest version of Google’s new Operating System (OS) will bring a host of new features to its devices, including picture-in-picture (PiP), more control over notifications and Autofill, a system that remembers your login to your favourite apps.
The honor 8 Pro, engineered with its new Kirin 960 chipset and a large 6GB of RAM, will see an enhanced overall performance when the Android 8.0 Oreo OS is introduced – a decrease in boot up time and improved security with the addition of Google Play Protect built-in which will scan over 50 billion apps per day. There will also be improvements to the overall user experience which will include a double tap to wake gesture, and a faster charging speed to its large 4,000mAh battery.
With the Android 8.0 Oreo, background activity will be minimised in the apps users use the least which complements the honor 8 Pro’s new EMUI 5.1 system which leverages machine learning to learn from your behavior and habits to minimise lag and ensure applications and files load smoothly. For example, if you tend to open an application at a certain time of the day, the honor 8 Pro will be able to anticipate your needs and pre-load the application.
While honor Malaysia confirms that the Android 8.0 Oreo OS will be on its powerful honor 8 Pro, the exact release date to its Malaysian consumers is yet to be determined.
The honor 8 Pro is available at a retail price of RM1,999 on vMall, the official licensed e-store for honor and HUAWEI and its honor experience stores and display zones nationwide.
