How do you transport the star-studded cast of The Force Awakens across the Atlantic to the movie's London premiere?
In a plane painted like R2-D2 and outfitted with elaborate Star Wars details, of course.
Japan's All Nippon Airways unveiled the first R2-D2 plane earlier this year, in partnership withStar Wars and Lucasfilm.
And on Tuesday, the ultimate aviation Star Wars event happened, as the cast of the film boarded the plane at Los Angeles International Airport to head to London on flight — wait for it — ANA 1977.
The Boeing 787-900 doesn't typically fly from Los Angeles to London, but the exception is understandable for this flight. It arrived in London on Wednesday.
The airline will soon also have another R2-D2 plane as well as a BB-8 plane, but those are unlikely to carry such an outrageously appropriate passenger roster as this first one.
