Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, said: “Children today are remarkably sophisticated and knowledgeable about the world around them hence we have a responsibility to provide them with a condusive environment to nurture their ability and passion to learn through enriching experiences. The KidZania CongreZZ empowers these 20 chosen children to act and plan initiatives as part of our legislative body and in doing so, they pick up skills that will help them in the near future while adding value to other KidZanians.”
The inauguration was the culmination of a long application and selection process where applicants were required to submit a resume and video, go through a face-to-face interview and campaign for votes. Hundreds of submissions were reviewed by experts in education and child development as well as representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of Education and KidZania Kuala Lumpur.
