In Hokkaido, Furano’s lavender fields attract large number of visitors to the region every summer when the plants are in full bloom. Lavenders usually start blooming in late June and reach its peak from around mid July to early August.
One of the must-visit places there is Farm Tomita. It was a huge farm with a traditional lavender garden and other fields of colourful flowers. Lavender Tomita Farm is a peaceful place, the perfect place to stroll and enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Along with the fields, the farm has cafes, ice cream vendors, gift shops, a dried flower shop and a potpourri shop.
From a simple lavender field started by Tokuma Tomita in 1903 for the purpose of harvesting essential oil, Farm Tomita is now a complete facility producing an expanded lavender product range, which all of these can be enjoyed inside the Potpourri house.
