LET’S GO GREEN PHASE 2 - INTRODUCTION OF NEW AND MORE AFFORDABLE LED LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

Let’s Go Green Phase 2

Under the ‘Let’s Go Green’ campaign, Philips Lighting, the global leader in lighting solutions is continuing its push for adoption of LED products in Malaysia, with the launch of their latest range of even more affordable LED lighting solutions for domestic as well as commercial purposes. With the addition of this new tailored portfolio for Malaysia, comprising of an array of retrofit LED Ecofit Tubes, Ultra-slim LED Downlights and the next generation of budget-friendly LED Bulbs, Philips Lighting is looking at ensuring that consumers have greater choice and flexibility, making it even easier for them to make the switch to long lasting, energy-saving and eco-friendly LED lighting solutions.

In conjunction with its drive towards accelerated adoption of LED lighting solutions to protect our precious environment, Philips Lighting Malaysia in partnership with the Malaysia International Commission on Illumination (MyCIE), which is facilitated by The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM), also announced the ‘Save the Earth’ recycling programme today. The initiative is in line with MyCIE’s objective to ensure proper disposal of fluorescent lighting products when both domestic and commercial customers go for LED lighting replacements, thereby avoiding potentially hazardous waste that can contaminate the environment.

Together with the ‘Save the Earth’ programme, Philips Lighting introduced their latest range of affordable LED lighting products, comprising the Philips Ecofit LED Tubes, Philips Ultra-slim LED Downlights and the next generation Philips LED Bulbs.

Just by replacing conventional T8 fluorescent tubes with the Philips Ecofit LED Tube, consumers can enjoy up to 55% energy savings_. It can last up to 15,000 hours, thus eliminating the need to replace the tubes repeatedly, while providing long-lasting brightness to homes and commercial spaces. Furthermore, this is a fully retrofit replacement for fluorescent tubes, allowing consumers to easily make the switch without having to rewire their existing fixtures.

The state-of-the-art Ultra-slim LED Downlights with integrated drivers allow for easy installation into Malaysian homes with low false ceilings, while delivering high lumen output and great visual comfort. Despite a slimmer form, its wide beam angle provides better coverage and illumination. In addition, it is equipped with a low glare diffuser for an even and soft glow and is available in 2 shapes.

Just by making the switch to even more affordable next generation Philips LED Bulbs, consumers can now enjoy up to 85% energy savings_. It can last up to 15 years as it utilises semiconductor technology to extend the lifespan of the bulb while being more energy efficient at the same time. As it is manufactured without the use of potentially hazardous materials, Philips LED Bulbs are a safe and sustainable option for the home and office. These products are mercury-free – preventing the risks of harmful exposure in case of accidental breakage.

Let’s Go Green Phase 2

To encourage the public to responsibly dispose of their used conventional lighting products, Philips Lighting Malaysia is also offering rebates on this new LED range to consumers who bring their Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), Fluorescent Lamps (FLs) and conventional Downlights to participating Philips Retailers around the country, for safe collection and recycling, supervised by MyCIE until 31 December 2015.

Consumers can purchase the full and new range of Philips LED solutions at any Philips authorised retailer located nationwide and at the Philips Brand Store in Publika Shopping Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
