As of August 2019, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has officially announced its strict ban on all flights of Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops that’s produced between September 2015 and February 2017 as they might pose a fire safety risk.

Apple issued a recall in June with a statement that a limited number of older generations 15-inch MacBook Pro units have battery issues. It may overheat and become a fire hazard.
The total ban by CAAV means that the recalled devices must not be taken on flights as cargo or in carry-on baggage by passengers. If found bringing the prohibited laptops on board, passengers could be denied service and handled pursuant to Vietnamese laws.
The U.S’s Federal Aviation Administration has also placed a similar ban on its carriage aboard aircraft. Thai Airways International on the other hand, has warned passengers to leave your old generations MacBook Pro laptops at home.
