The Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia is back for its seventh year at the newly named TPC Kuala Lumpur at Alya Kuala Lumpur from 27th to 30th October. And once again, ‘Malaysia’s most fun golf tournament’, is set to live up to its reputation with four days of non-stop entertainment, food, and all around fun both on and off the golf course!
A Moveable Feast
KL’s favourite food trucks return in 2016, providing a mouth-watering alternative to conventional catering. Cowboys Food Truck, Mad Miles, Wheeloaf, and Dr. Brew’s Mystic Mango will once again feed the army of visitors that make their way to TPC Kuala Lumpur.
And if that isn’t enough, TPC Kuala Lumpur’s very own Chef Arnold will be curating a wide range of affordable, authentic Malaysian dishes available at the food stalls throughout the Festival Zone.
A Sunday Affair @ SDLPGA
No event is complete without entertainment, and this year, the well-known party people from A Sunday Affair @ TREC are bringing the party to the tournament. A Sunday Affair is KL's first music-centric flea market by TREC, and they will be curating the music for the tournament.
Located at the Courtyard Marquee, this is the place to see and be seen. Open to all visitors, the marquee sits at the heart of the concourse, overlooking the players putting green and a stone’s throw from the 18th hole. Check out KL’s best DJs and bands, meet the stars of the LPGA Tour, eat, drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
Giveaways Galore
The only event in town with such amazing freebies! With every Daily Pass purchased, visitors will receive: RM10 Food Voucher, Taylormade Microfibre Cart Towel, a sleeve of Burner Balls by Taylormade, Golf Umbrella, Magnum Ice Cream, and bottle of Gatorade.
And with every Weekend Pass purchased, visitors will receive: RM20 Food Voucher, Taylormade Microfibre Cart Towel, a sleeve of Burner Balls by Taylormade, Golf Umbrella, Magnum Ice Cream, and Gatorade.
Shop ‘til You Drop
Bargain-hunters will not be disappointed with the deals on the latest golf gear and accessories, courtesy of Adidas and MST Golf. A trip to the Sponsor’s Village is definitely well worth the visit.
Kids Zone
Located at the poolside close to the Courtyard, a new look Kids Zone returns to provide the younger ones with day-long entertainment. Children aged 4-12 will be granted access to the pool (with life-guard supervision), while all juniors will be able to enjoy hours of fun courtesy of the Kids Zone’s Playstation, Nintendo Wii, Angry Birds carnival games, numerous arcade machines, giant snakes and ladders board, and face-painting. Under 4s require parent supervision.
Fore!
With so much going on off the course, it’s easy to forget that the tournament also has the world’s best golfers in town, including World No. 1 Lydia Ko, new kid on the block, Brooke Henderson, and five-time 2016 tour winner Ariya Jutanugarn. Plus fan favourites Michelle Wie and Cheyenne Woods, not to forget our very own Malaysian Angels. Led by Kelly Tan, there will be no less than nine Malaysians competing in this year’s tournament, making the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia simply too good to miss.
