The club is the result of a world-first, industry-leading merger between Kingswood Golf Club and Peninsula Country Golf Club. The 144-hectare site comprises a new clubhouse designed by local Melbourne architecture firm Demaine Partnership, and two 18-hole golf courses overhauled by renowned Australian golf architecture firm Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead (OCCM).
Peninsula Kingswood establishes a new benchmark in country club excellence, featuring restaurant quality dining, a 25-metre heated pool, gymnasium, 8 in-clubhouse accommodation rooms and 10 on-course villas.
Located on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, The National Golf Club's Ocean Course has undergone a recent design upgrade led by renowned golf architect Tom Doak of Renaissance Golf Design. The course will now be known as the Gunnamatta Course, from the Aboriginal word meaning 'sandhills'.
Doak has successfully created an interesting yet challenging course for all abilities with improved routing to take advantage of the ocean backdrop. The Gunnamatta Course layout features superior green complexes, wide fairways and fewer, more appropriately positioned and designed bunkers.
At present, the course is limited to member-only social play but will be officially reopened in later Spring 2019.
