PHILIPS CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF THE GOAT WITH A GREEN BLAST

The lion dance performance at the Philips Lighting CNY Lunch 2015.

The festive event saw the hosts and guests celebrate the auspicious event by tossing yee sang and witnessing a lion dance performance. They were later entertained with a traditional Chinese dance, while Philips also presented awards to recognise the achievements of the business partners and customers.

Meanwhile, the celebration took on a green touch when Philips launched the LED’s Go Green! campaign during the luncheon. The campaign aims to spearhead an eco-friendly and efficient LED lighting revolution, in line with Philips’ global mission to improve the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2025.

Alok Ghose, GM for Philips Lighting Malaysia, during his speech at the Philips Lighting CNY Lunch 2015.

Commenting on the campaign, Ghose said, “As a global leader in lighting, Philips uses the latest technology in this field to improve people’s lives - every day, everywhere. Having launched our full LED bulb range in Malaysia last September, which offers up to 85% energy savings, we are keen to expand our LED product offerings this year, to help Malaysians save on electricity costs besides reducing their carbon footprint.”

“Through the LED’s Go Green! campaign, Malaysian consumers can look forward to a complete range of economical LED lighting solutions. Among the upcoming highlights, I can share that Malaysia will be the first country in Southeast Asia to launch our sleek and seamless LED battens with a lifetime of up to 20,000 hours and up to 53% energy savings. Additionally, our customers can look forward to LED Tubes with 55% energy savings, new down lights and mini LED bulbs,” Ghose added.

In a creative touch, the launch featured a Chinese-style dance that incorporated Philips lighting products as part of the dance.
