Last Christmas, a mall in china offered “shareable boyfriends” for lonely shoppers. Customers had only need to pay 1 yuan for 1 hour of shopping time with the “ideal boyfriend”. They’ll help you shop, carry your bags, and have a good conversation with you without any body contact.
According to Asiaone, the guys were all immediately taken within the first 5 minutes of the launch and they constantly had to remind their customers of the instructions to not scare away their boyfriends.
Shareable BFs was a hit, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case for “Shareable Girlfriends”, in the clip shown here, most of the 15 gfs are seen to be on their stand, looking bored with their phones as there are no willing suitors stepping forward. According to Superpunch, there have been a speculation that men felt awkward to “rent a GF” in public. Plus, men are less likely to go shopping on their own anyway.
This makes an interesting case study doesn't it? xD
