Be ready to say goodbye to the famous Singapore Merlion. A statue that you’ve most likely seen with your own eyes if you’ve visited Singapore previously.
It’s said that the Sentosa’s giant Merlion statue will have its last day of operation on the 20th October 2019. But the actual demolition date has yet to be fixed and so far, they have no plans of relocating the Merlion.
The demolition will make way for SGD90 million Sentosa-Brani linkway, a themed linkway between the north and south shores of Sentosa, as part of plans to give the resort island and its adjacent Pulau Brani a facelift.
To bid farewell to our favourite Merlion, Sentosa Merlion is hosting a special edition of the Sentosa Merlion Magic Lights show four times nightly: 7.45pm, 8.20pm, 8.55pm, and 9.30pm.
The usual price for an adult ticket is SGD15 and SGD12.50 for a child ticket but it will be at half-price to residents and permanent residents from 21 September 2019 till 20 October 2019. Those aged 60 and above can enter the attraction for free.

UPDATE: Only the Sentosa Merlion will be demolished. There will still be six other Merlion that you can visit during your trip in Singapore. One of the six remaining statue includes the One Fullerton Merlion as shown in image below.
