SNOOZE IN 5 MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

The Pole House

MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

A landmark along the Great Ocean Road, and probably the most photographed home in Victoria (if not Australia), The Pole House is suspended 40 meters above sea level (literally). With a walkway extending from the cliff top to the building, the Pole House provides a 360-degree view over Fairhaven Beach, the longest stretch of beach on the Great Ocean Road. The bed is situated right by a window looking directly over the ocean, and the sitting room is complete with fireplace to ensure winter days are just as romantic as summer evenings spent on the balcony.

St. Jerome’s – The Hotel

MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

Camping gets a face lift with the new trend of glamping (glamorous camping) for urbanites that want comfort with their adventure. St Jerome's Hotel is a brand new boutique accommodation and pop-up glamping site that promises an urban outdoor luxury camping experience with 20 deluxe tents on the rooftop of Melbourne Central. Each tent comes with its own ensuite bathroom, 24-hour concierge service, premium beds and linen, heating and everything you could ask for that rivals a luxury hotel. St Jerome’s is branded as a pop up hotel, so hurry and grab your chance to experience Melbourne’s city lights!

Slumber Safari

MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

Animal lovers can stay overnight at Werribee Open Range Zoo with its Slumber Safari in luxury ‘tented lodges’, just half an hour from the city of Melbourne. Inspired by safari-style accommodation, the camp offers an authentic ‘out of Africa’ experience, with private balconies overlooking native Australian bushland. Meanwhile at Melbourne Zoo’s Roar ‘n’ Snore, guests can set up camp in a revamped elephant enclosure with all the amenities you need to wine, dine and sleep with utmost comfort. After being awoken by the calls of birds and gibbons, campers are even given an admission ticket for the second day so they can fully experience the wonders of the zoo at both day and night time.

Hedge Farm

MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

Train lovers rejoice – now you can stay in a train carriage! Hedge Farm, so called because of the 100-year-old hedge that surrounds the main house, is 20-acre Macedon Ranges property with three train-themed one bedroom accommodation options. Hedges is a converted railway station while The Vine and Wisteria Cottage are both glamping style accommodation options in converted train carriages. All have retained as much of the original structure as possible, such as the waiting seat being up-cycled to create a headboard and wash basin and the pot belly stove of what was once the brakes van remaining in its original (and still working) condition.

Kryal Castle

MELBOURNE’S MOST UNIQUE ROOMS

You can get a good “knight’s” sleep at Kryal Castle, Australia’s first medieval village attraction. The period-style Castle Suites are designed to make guests feel like royalty with arches and drapes built to resemble a medieval fortress. The village takes authenticity seriously and offers a working medieval village complete with jousting tournaments and tales of dragons and fairies. Guests might be whisked into rescuing a princess or get the chance to meet their very own knight in shining armor!
