To kick-start the Thailand Happiness: Street Festival extravaganza held over the weekend of 25 to 26 July 2014, releasing thousands of multi-coloured smiley-face balloons into the skies above Bangkok is part of a big-bang effort to entice tourist to visit Thailand. The ceremony were headed by Admiral Narong Pipatanasai, Deputy Head of The National Council for Peace and Order and Commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Navy, Mr. Thawatchai Arunyik, Governer of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), various officials and representatives from different areas of Thai society. More than 900 international members of the media, bloggers and tour agents from 47 countries were present to witness this memorable day.
