Over hundreds of local food merchants participated in the 14th Macau Food Festival held at Sai Van Lake Square from 7th to 23rd November 2014. Not only the unique food culture of Macau were presented this year, the festival committee had invited a variety of participants from Kansai that offered authentic Japanese delicacies for locals and tourists to enjoy a brand new experience.
Occupying the lower level of Sai Van Lake Square, the Japanese Village Kansai setup in total of 25 booths from Osaka, Hyogo, Tokushima, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, Mie, Shiga and Fukui. Besides that, performance troupe from Kansai, Japan, were there to educate us more about the Japanese culture with a series of performances and demonstrations such as chanoyu and hitting the glutinous rice.
As for the food stall occupied the upper level of Sai Van Lake Square, the booths were divided into five zones namely the Chinese Restaurant zone, European Delicacies zone, Asian Delicacies zone, Local Delicacies zone and Dessert zone for easier navigation.
The Macau Food Festival was organised by The United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macao, co-organised by Macau Restaurant Workers’ Union, Associacao de Conzinheiros de Culinaria Chinesa de Macau, Associacao de Empregados de Restaurants Padarias de Macau, Macau Journalists Association, and sponsored by Macau Government Tourist Office, Macao Foundation, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau.
