Remember not too long ago, China completed building a glass-bottomed suspension bridge in Hunan province? Well, now there’s a new world longest pedestrian suspension bridge and it’s the beautiful land of Switzerland.
Known as the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge, located in the Swiss Alps that’s near to the village of Randa, it’s 86 metres above ground at its highest point and a record-breaking 494 metres long bridge that connects Grächen and Zermatt on the Europaweg foot trail. This bridge has a view of the Matterhorn, Weisshorn and the Bernese Alps.
According to The Guardian, it’s replacing the previous bridge that was damaged by rock falls. The structure is just 65cm wide and now, only takes about 10 minutes to cross when previously it’s a journey that took hikers about 4 hours.
Would you someday visit this marvellous bridge?
