Seongsan Ilchulbong is a hydro-volcano that erupted upon a shallow seabed about 100,000 years ago. It’s now the best spot on Jeju to see the rising sun. It takes 20 minutes to reach the top and we assure you that it’s worth it.

This place is a popular filming location for movies and TV commercials thanks to its white coral sand beach, clean waters, and serene views of the sea. This island is also known as “Soseom” (cow island) due to its shape that looks like a cow lying on its back.

Long ago, large amounts of flowing lava rapidly cooled and contracted to form cracks, which continued to develop and grow, eventually forming columnar joints, or “jusangjeolli” in Korean. The hexagonal pillars along the seaside create an artistic piece of nature. When the breaking waves rush to the edge creating white foam, the scenery is even more superb and phenomenal.

Representing one of three Jeju’s waterfall, the water falls straight down to the sea from 23m high perpendicular cliffs, creating a spectacular array of rainbows. It’s just a truly elegant view to stay a little longer.

Manjanggul Cave is part of the Geomunoreum Lava Tube System, one of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites on Jeju. It’s the world’s longest lava cave.
