Dubai’s original family shopping and entertainment destination returns for another exciting edition of round-the-world fun. Held under the tagline, Come Experience The World, season 23 of Global Village starts from the end of October until April 2019.
Now that Global Village is open for a second season, you have 158 days to explore the best from continents near and far, indulge in exotic flavours and enjoy live shows, funfair rides and bargain buys.
With 27 pavilions, representing more than 75 cultures, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Fill your bags with traditional spices from India, Hello Kitty stationery from the Far East, matryoshka dolls from Russia, wood carvings from Africa, fashionable finds from Europe and more. The hand-crafted rugs from Iran and precious sidr honey from Yemen are proving to be big draws this season.
Taking pride of place at Global Village is the Carnaval – a fresh new experience with 28 exciting rides. There’s something for everyone, including families with young children and older teenagers who want to channel their inner daredevils on city-themed rides. Our favourites at Carnaval this year also include the skill games, with plenty of prizes up for grabs.
Whether you’re looking for Bosnian ćevapi, Emirati gahwa coffee, Chinese chow mein or Indian tandoori chicken, Global Village stays true to its theme by showcasing the culinary best the world has to offer. Try something new at the international street food kiosks that are dotted across the venue or pull up a chair and sample the finest cuisines at 23 restaurants and cafes.
Global Village is hosting more than 12,000 cultural and entertainment shows over the course of five months, with highlights including the Indian dance and music extravaganza Viva Bollywood II, and the slick circus production, High Voltage. There’s always something happening with country pavilions hosting cultural shows, children’s entertainment, roaming street performers and daredevil stunt shows.
