The staple Malaysian dish, Nasi Lemak, has recently been announced as one of 1o healthiest international breakfast by TIME Magazine.
Of course, we know how ‘supremely delicious’ our nasi lemak can be. The article listed down the various components of the coconut rice dish and said even though there’s a bit more fat than is good for us, it’s still a balanced meal with lots of manganese, protein, and carbs. Additionally, the sambal (chilli) helps boosts the metabolism.
It suggested nasi lemak lovers to reduce the rice intake in order to reduce the carbs/fats as stated in prior.
Also on the list was the Turkish breakfast spread, Japanese breakfast of various side dishes, the Vietnamese pho bone broth, Egypt’s breakfast, gallo pinto from Costa Rica, Europe’s porridge, Iceland’s hafragrautur oatmeal porridge, Russian kasha, and Upma from India.
Once a farmer’s meal, nasi lemak now enjoys widespread popularity across Malaysia and is commonly considered the country’s national dish.
