AirAsia, the world’s best low-cost airline, believes mobile efforts that leverage geo-location technology will play a more significant role in its marketing strategy mix in the future.
AirAsia Malaysia Commercial Head Spencer Lee reported that the launch of AirAsia co-founder and Group CEO Tony Fernandes’ limited-edition voice navigation with Waze, the free, real-time traffic and navigation app powered by drivers, has seen positive results.
“We’ve seen an amazing amount of engagement with Tony’s voice on Waze globally,” said Edward Ling, Waze Malaysia Sales Manager. “In just one month, we’ve seen Wazers collectively drive 450,000+ hours and more than 13,661,000 kilometers with his voice. The overwhelming numbers have inspired Waze to further develop these unique yet native daily branded journeys.
