We get jet lags after travelling across several time zones, which makes our body circadian rhythms being out of sync with the local destination time. Although they are temporary symptoms, nobody wants to waste one day of trip just to adjust to a new time zone. So here are ways you can cope with jet lags.
This is the most common method used by many to overcome jet lag. The best way is to adjust to the new time zone a day in advance. This means your should set your clock to your destination time a day before to prep yourself. If it is 7 hours later at your new time zone, this means waking up 7 hours earlier the day you travel and then sleep when it is night time at your destination. You are allowed to nap but limit naps to less than an hour each.
Try Valerian. It’s an herb that many travellers used to help people fall asleep at their desired time and they are known to be safe. Means it won’t cause addiction or cause your to feel fatigue the next morning.
There’s a general rule to this and it’s simple. Just avoid excess alcohol or caffeine, drink plenty of water, and eat lighter meals. Though you can also try the ‘Argonne diet’, also known as the ‘anti-jet lag diet’ that basically alternates feast and fast days and ends with a high-protein breakfast. Learn more about it here.
