If you ever wonder what to eat in Gangneung, Gangwon, and craving for something fresh and healthy? Try this place!
Chaesundang is Korea’s largest chain of Shabu-Shabu (hot pot) specialty restaurant. Its name Chaesundang literally means “the Home of Fresh Vegetables”. Staying true to its name, everything was really fresh when we dine in at the one of the Gangneung outlet early this month.
After doing some research, I found that they have 3 different types of Shabu restaurants, the one that we went to were the basic style without the all-you-can-eat salad bar (only in Chaesundang Plus outlets).
Looking through their menu, it’s highly possible that we had the well-being course D set lunch (10,000 won per serving) with Korean beef, as well as an ala carte of rice and egg to make porridge at the end of the meal.
The vegetables, handmade noodles, dumplings, and beef was really fresh. The broth was really light in taste to begin with thus, once everything was boiling in the pot, you can really taste the sweetness of the broth from the vegetables and the beef. If you are not interested in beef, they also have seafood option.
