There’s no secret that ESP Burst Asia 2014 promises to be Malaysia’s largest water balloon fight, but it isn’t just a fun, frivolous event – it’s also the culmination of a year’s worth of various activities organised to raise AIDS awareness. ESP Burst Asia 2014 is backed by ESP Condoms to benefit the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) and Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) – three unique parties that have taken AIDS awareness nationwide with the Empowering Safety Program, the #ESPIAmSafe initiative and other activities.
ESP Burst Asia 2014 aims to bring Malaysians of all walks of life for a noble cause. The act of throwing a water balloon is a symbolic gesture of breaking through the barriers of traditional thinking and taboos associated with AIDS. It’s truly a situation that runs deep in Malaysian life. In figures provided by the MAC, from 1986 to 2010, over 16,000 people have succumbed to AIDS, while over 91,000 deaths were HIV-related.
From touching upon the past, ESP Burst Asia 2014 is also very much involved with the present. To allay concerns about the recent water crisis encountered by the Malaysian public, the organisers of ESP Burst Asia 2014 would like to inform participants and friends that the water used to fill the water balloons is sourced from filtered mining pools.
ESP Burst Asia 2014 aims to bring together people from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicity and gender, in one act to break through barriers and help people make informed decisions – one of the core messages of ESP Condom’s HIV/AIDS Knowledge (HAK) campaign.
It promises a great chance for Malaysians to break a new record to become the country’s biggest water balloon fight. It’s not every day that a crowd of 10,000 people will get splashed with 200,000 water balloons!
Fun with water isn’t the only item on the agenda. Apart from the main draw, other activities will be held to create a great atmosphere for all participants.
Pop starlet Cassandra Kay, ESP’s Ambassador, will be taking the stage and getting participants of ESP Burst Asia 2014 ready to rumble with a full set. This young Australian up-and-comer is also responsible for writing ESP’s irresistible anthem, “Love Your Life”, and is set to become a heatseeker in the music world.
Red FM’s Red Riders will also be present to conduct activities for the ESP Burst Asia 2014 crowd right after the doors open. And to end the day on a high note, ESP Burst Asia 2014 participants will be treated to some sweet beats after the event from local DJs.
But don’t forget about the deeper meaning behind the event. It’s an opportunity for Malaysians to rally together and show their support for a cause that cannot be ignored. It’s time to make a splash for AIDS awareness at Burst Asia 2014 on Saturday, 29 November 2014 at 5pm in Dataran Petaling Jaya!
Do take note that only Malaysians and non-Malaysians aged 16 and above are eligible to participate this event.
This event would not have been made possible without the sponsorship consideration of Red FM, Nivea and Kuala Lumpur Tower.
