After 222 days of renovation, WOLO reopens for business with a bolder, more sensuous and eclectic luxury design to inspire modern day travellers to explore the best of Kuala Lumpur through bold lenses.

Inspired by the energy and culture of its location – at the crossroad between the old (Jalan Alor) and new (Bukit Bintang) – the refreshed design was created with the modern day curious travellers in mind.

The hotel lobby however features a 20-meter metal and wood art installation created by British self-taught artist, Jon Reading. Unlike conventional large-scale installations that are placed on the ground, the ‘Down Side Up’ is suspended from a 20-meter high ceiling with a customised hanging system. Inspired by WOLO’s location at Bukit Bintang, the ‘Down Side Up’ was designed to mirror the urban layout and the vibrant location.

Taking inspiration from Kuala Lumpur’s humble tin mine beginnings, WOLO had tastefully thrown in surprising elements of metal-coloured ‘muddy confluence’ motifs at the backdrop of its reception area as well as the shape of its metal benches in the main lobby area. 

Every room and suite is equipped with elevated room essentials and amenities such as Appelles Apothecary & Lab toiletries, customised hooded bathrobe, top of the class Serta mattresses, TWG tea and Nespresso coffee capsules and quirky stationery. They also feature unique metal centrepiece made by sculpture designers from the Philippines.

The rooms and suites were designed according to four different elements such as Copper, Gold, Platinum and WOLO (diamond)Suite with Copper being the lowest capacity room and WOLO suite capable of housing a family of 4 being the highest capacity. Guest choosing the Copper suite have an option between double super single beds or a king size bed while WOLO Suite comes with double king size bed and a 72-inch smart television. 

Starbucks Reserve has occupied part of the hotel’s Ground and Mezzanine floor, WOLO’s guests can now discover coffee artistry, beverage innovation and human connection apart from experiencing the immersive experience the hotel has to offer in Bukit Bintang.
