Remember the times when you’ll have to fill in a disembarkation/embarkation card upon arrival to Singapore? Well, soon we all might need to submit our info online before our trip.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced on the 3rd October 2018 that the current disembarkation/embarkation will soon be replaced with an electronic version. It’s currently on trial for three months to ensure smooth implementation.
With the electronic arrival card, you could submit your info and trip details through the ICA’s website or via a mobile application before arriving in Singapore. When you arrive, you only need to show your passport for immigration clearance.
The electronic cards will be available in various foreign languages and it allows families or group travellers to make a one-time group submission. The mobile app will also allow you to save information from your previous trip for future trips to Singapore.
More info will be announced after the completion of the trial.
