ITINERARY / SCHEDULE
DAY 1 - Cairo (Arrival)
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, pick-up by our local representative and proceed to dinner and hotel check-in. Transfer Travel by Coach or Van (depend of group size) Meals Dinner at hotel/ local restaurant Hotel in Cairo
DAY 2 - Cairo - Aswan (by Overnight sleeper train)
Breakfast serve at hotel, start the tour with monuments of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx. The Great Sphinx is a large human-headed lion that was carved from a mound of natural rock. It is located in Giza where it guards the front of Khafra's pyramid (Optional to enter Khafra's Pyramid USD 7 per person). You may have chance to experience Camel Riding in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza as beautiful backdrop at your own expenses (tips might request from locals for photograph session). Next, visit to Papyrus Institute, Papyrus is the material which the ancient Egyptians used for writing. Currently it is the word for the most popular gift from the country. Lunch will be served at at local restaurant. Thereafter, visit to Egyptian Museum, one of the most interesting places to visit while you are exploring the mystic country. The richest collection of antiquities from 7000 years of Egyptian civilization, it also included the treasure of King Tut Ankh Amun Statue and Mummies. Next visit to Perfume Factory, you will find local essential oils and aromatherapy oils. Before the night, shopping time at Khan Khalili Bazaar, the most popular market place in Cairo. After a day tour, transfer to railway station. Tonight, experience a regular public train overnight trip to Aswan in shared sleeping compartments (sharing 1 lower & 1 upper bunk per compartment). Train departs at approximately evening/ night time (subject to final confirmation). Dinner will be served on board (Meals are served on tray and can request for vegetarian meal at the time of booking). Remark: No shower facilities on board the train. Cabins are with single or double, so for single occupany traveler, cabin will be arranged in private. DAY 3 - Aswan (Arrival by train) - Nile Cruise
Breakfast serve on the train, train arrive Aswan in the morning. Spread out along the banks of the Nile, Aswan is a relaxed and friendly town that provides a tranquil interlude if you've just arrived from busier Luxor or Cairo. Once ancient Egypt's gateway to Africa, this is a perfect base for exploring the temples and monuments in the southern reaches of Upper Egypt and the area's distinctly different Nubian culture. Upon arrival, meet and greet a local guide and start a tour visit to High Dam, an embankment dam situated across the Nile River in Aswan. Next, visit to Unfinished Oblesik. About 42 meters long and weighing an estimated 1168 tons, the obelisk would have been the largest piece of Egyptian masonry had it been completed. The obelisk was probably left unfinished after it cracked at the middle. It is still attached to the parent rock in the Northern Quarries, where the Ancient Egyptian quarried granite. After tour, ready to embark into Nile Cruise (Depart every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from Aswan). Continuous 3 nights stay on cruise. Sailing the Nile along the lush Nile Valley surrounded by golden dunes and sightseeing Ancient Egyptian monuments. Lunch will be served on-board. Sail on the Nile by Felucca ride around Elephantine Island and Aga Khan Mausoleum. Afternoon tea will serve on-board. At night, enjoy Folkloric Show or Belly Dance. DAY 4 - Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu (by Nile Cruise)
Breakfast serve on-board, free and own leisure and enjoy on-board facilities in the morning. After lunch, arrive in Kom Ombo - an agricultural town in Egypt famous for the Temple of Kom Ombo. It was originally an Egyptian city called Nubt, meaning City of Gold. Start a tour visit to The Temple of Kom Ombo - an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the Egyptian town of Kom Ombo. Some additions to it were later made during the Roman period. After a excursion, return to the cruise, relax and enjoy the afternoon tea on-board. Cruise continue saling to Edfu. At night, you may join on-board night activities like Galabiya Party - experience wearing Egyptian costumes and etc. (All on-board activities subject to cruise's program schedule). DAY 5 - Edfu - Luxor (by Nile Cruise)
Breakfast serve on-board, today start with a Horse Carriage Tour visit to The Temple of Horus at Edfu. Edfu Temple consists of traditional elements of Egyptian Temples of the New Kingdom, together with a few Greek elements, such as the Mamisi, which is situated to the west of the main entrance of the Temple (Mamisi means "house of the divine birth"). After the half day tour, return to the cruise. Lunch and afternoon tea will be served on-board. Next, cruise will be sailing to Luxor. Luxor, once an Ancient Egyptian capital, is known today as the world's "greatest open-air museum." From the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings and the magnificent sunset views at the majestic temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor to the exciting and fun Nile cruises, Luxor is the perfect choice for culture vultures. Free and own leisure and enjoy on-board facilities (All on-board activities subject to cruise's program schedule). Tonight, dinner and overnight on the cruise. DAY 6 - Luxor - Cairo (by Overnight sleeper train)
Join an optional tour: Early morning pick up from port, enjoy a Hot Air Balloon Sunrise Tour at the West Bank in Luxor (Subject to weather condition) (Price from USD 130 per person, subject to change). Breakfast serve on-board, cruise disembarkation at Luxor. Start the Luxor city tour visit to Valley of the Kings (3 tombs only), is a valley in Egypt where tombs were built for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The pharoahs were buried in secret tombs here and protected by the best security of the age, but few burial sites escaped the plundering of grave robbers. Next, visit to Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was a rare female pharoah. Her temple was designed and implemented by Senemut, the pharaoh's royal steward, for her posthumous worship. Shopping stop at Alabaster Factory, you can get some souvenirs here. Thereafter, visit to The Colossi of Memnon. There are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Next, visit to Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple, which are Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city. The complexs are vast open-air museums. After dinner, transfer to railway station. Tonight, take a regular public train overnight trip back to Cairo in shared sleeping compartments (sharing 1 lower & 1 upper bunk per compartment). DAY 7 - Cairo
Breakfast serve on the train, train arrive Cairo in the morning. Upon arrival, meet and greet a local guide and start a tour visit to Citadel of Saladin which constructed in 1183 and the Grand Mosque of Muhammad Ali. This Ottoman mosque is the largest to be built in the first half of the 19th century. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. End of the tour, check-in to hotel, free and own leisure time until meeting time, depart for dinner at local restaurant or dinner at hotel. Transfer Travel by Coach or Van (depend of group size).
