DAY 1 - London (Arrival)
Welcome to London! Upon arrival at the airport, we shall be waiting to transfer you to your hotel and free time. Hotel standard check in time 2pm. You will receive information about the start of the circuit during the afternoon, or you can check the informative panels in the hotel reception area. NOTE: IF YOU REQUESTED ADDITIONAL NIGHTS on arrival at the hotel you will have your booking made but the guide of your trip will normally not arrive until the start of the included activities. YOUR TIME BEFORE THIS MOMENT IS THEREFORE FREE. At your hotel they can help you with all the information you need. | The schedules you will find in this itinerary are approximate. DAY 2 - London Sightseeing
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Guided tour, Transfer to Soho. Panoramic tour of London. We start our visit first thing in the morning. The content varies depending on the local guides, traffic and weather. You will visit: Hyde Park, Oxford St, City, St Pauls Cathedral, Tower of London, Thames, Piccadilly Circus, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace. During the visit we will stop at Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard (sometimes this ceremony does not take place). End of the visit in the center of the city. Free afternoon. Our guide will offer you an optional excursion to Windsor Castle.18:00 hrs. In the evening we´ll meet at a meeting point, Piccadilly Circus, to walk with the guide through Leicester Square, China Town and Soho with its atmosphere, its theatres and its entertainment. Transfer back to the hotel from Piccadilly. NOTE: In some cases, this evening event will be organised the previous day, when we arrive in London. DAY 3 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
TODAY´S HIGHLIGHTS: Picturesque countryside with hills and woods. We start the day leaving London towards northern England. Our first stop is CAMBRIDGE to admire its beautiful residential colleges. After lunch we will continue to YORK where its cathedral, Roman walls and lively shopping streets will create a charming memory, some free time to stroll around. Afterwards, we will continue north to DURHAM. Explore this charming medieval town full of life which has a wonderful cathedral right in front of the castle. DAY 4 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: Cross into Scotland. Castles, views over the sea. Sightseeing of Edinburgh. 0830AM Durham Departure. We travel north through England, and pass by the edge of the city of Newcastle. Alnwick - Medieval town dominated by its large castle. Attractive gardens. This was one of the backdrops for the Harry Potter film. Time to visit the castle (admission not included) or to stroll around. NOTE: the castle will be close during the winter months (01 October-31 March). Alnwick Departure. Cross into Scotland. Edinburgh Arrival - We are now in the capital of Scotland, in one of the liveliest cities in the north of Europe, whose spectacular centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle dominates the city centre, with its cobbled streets and parks. In the summer, the Edinburgh Festival is held, and the city brims with life and its many shows. Free time. Scenic visit round the city with a local guide (occasionally, this could be earlier, being undertaken on our arrival in the city). Later on, we provide a transfer to return to the hotel. DAY 5 - Edinburgh - Pitlochry - Inverness - Loch Ness - Glasgow
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Magnificent countryside of high mountains and lakes. Boat trip. Loch Ness. We continue to enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Scottish Highlands with a coffee and stroll in PITLOCHRY, a charming little village. We will continue and pass by INVERNESS in the north of Scotland, a city located very near the mysterious LOCH NESS. After lunch we visit (entrance included) the URQUHART medieval castle, from here we will take a boat trip on the dark waters of the lake. Afterwards, we will pass through FORT AUGUST with its sluice gate system and FORT WILLIAM, the tourist center at the foot of Ben Nevis (the highest summit in the United Kingdom). We will return south through the high plateaus where it is possible to glimpse the snow before visiting Loch Lomond, one of the most popular lakes in Scotland. We arrive in GLASGOW at the end of the day. Short stroll around the city center and accommodation. DAY 6 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: Ferryboat to Ireland. Today we will leave Glasgow heading towards southern Scotland. We will board a ferry in Cairnryan. Our journey takes us towards Northern Ireland, arriving in BELFAST, Northern Ireland’s capital city. This monumental city is overcoming its religious conflicts. We will resume our journey to EIRE in Ireland. Last stop will be DUBLIN, arriving at the end of the day. DAY 7 - Dublin Sightseeing
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: Sightseeing tour of Dublin. Dublin - Sightseeing tour of the city. A guide will tell us about the history of the city, its Georgian neighbourhoods, its bustling city centre streets and the University. Free time in the afternoon in the Irish capital. You will be able to have a walk through the lively banks of the River Liffey and visit its museums or the famous Guinness brewery (admission not included). NOTE: Occasionally, depending on our time of arrival in Dublin, the sightseeing tour of the city may be made on the previous afternoon. DAY 8 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: Ferry from Ireland to Wales. Maritim landscapes. Caernarfon. We will board a ferry in the early morning. After a journey of three hours, we will arrive in Wales. We will visit CAERNARFON - After crossing the Britannia bridge, we arrive at this town, which is a World Heritage Site situated on the seashore, with its spectacular castle that dominates the bay and its medieval streets. This is where those who are in line for the throne have been crowned since the Fourteenth Century ("the Prince of Wales"). Time to walk around and have lunch. We continue to LIVERPOOL, where we will take a short bus ride through the city, a World Heritage Site and the second port of the United Kingdom. We suggest a visit to the Beatles Museum (admission not included) so that you can discover this fascinating place and the Albert Dock. DAY 9 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - London
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: Shakespeare’s hometown. Liverpool – Departure Travel towards the heart of England. Stratford Upon Avon - The small town where Shakespeare was born, with its beautiful gardens and Tudor houses. Time, if you wish, to visit the house where Shakespeare was born (admission not included), to stroll around and have lunch. We cross beautiful landscapes of the Cotswolds, with its hills and cottages with thatched roofs. Oxford Arrival - Free time in this prestigious University city and to visit one of its spectacular main colleges. Time to stroll around. We will continue to LONDON, arriving in the evening. DAY 10 - London (Departure)
